hello from france!
it was a bit of a rough start, leaving behind some very good friends and a very special time of my life in norway.. seasons of life come and go, but norway was a darn good one that im sad to say goodbye to! but i’ve been learning since i’ve gotten to norway that change is good. God wants us to go through changes – it grows and refines us. so as sad as it is, the very special season of life i had in norway is now over... i thank God very much for it and trust Him that it’s time for change, and look for what He has in store for me next.
so here i am now in france! debbie and i are here for the next 5 weeks... pour améliorer notre français!
we started off in bordeaux... but truth be told, i didn’t really like it much. at least what i saw of it... i told myself i would come to love it, but yah... im very glad that actually, we we’re not in bordeaux but we’ve found ourselves a beautiful new home... in LACANAU!!! it’s a little total surfer beach town... and I LOVE IT!!! it’s more busy and touristy than i first thought when i imagined long stretches of empty beaches to sit and have quiet time by myself on in the mornings... but anyways, it’s much more my kind of france than the city!!
soo... we did a little house hunting and now here we are!! i can’t believe im actually living here! we have beautiful and cozy little studio
the more exciting thing though... is that we are exactly 2 minutes and 52 seconds walking distance from...
THIS!!
and THIS...
i am ACTUALLY living in surfer’s paradise... in FRANCE!!
debbie and i got ourselves some new haircuts
and im buying myself a skimboard tomorrow! and
and we’ve plastered the town with ads for babysitting.
it would be super ideal to get a nanny job and live with a family here... and really get a real french immersion experience again, but we'll see. some super good friends-of-friends have also offered to take me in in other parts of france, but we'll see how it goes here. im really looking forward to seeing my friends from back home too - Gen, who'll be here in bordeaux at the end of july, and jess tang, who's galloping around europe right now... and maybe wynjaninja, my flatmate from montreal last year!!
so yah... i wasn’t so much before, but i can now finally say that i am smiling again and looking forward to the next couple weeks here! =) i still owe you guys some beautiful pictures from the north of norway – and don’t worry, they’ll be on their way... they’re much too beautiful to keep to myself!! but yah.. internet cafes are expensive so ill write it up and get stuff ready at home first and then come upload it.
thanks for all your emails and prayers... i really appreciate it. =)
love you all and talk to you again soon...

ps. i dont have internet at home, but ill be checking my email at the internet cafe every couple days or so!
